Yankuba Minteh’s positive loan spell at Feyenoord continues to be praised in the Dutch media, with many fans and pundits taking pure football pleasure from watching the attacker.
The Newcastle United player is now praised on ESPN, where pundit Regi Blinker, who you may remember from his time in English football, made some comments about the 19-year-old.
In quotes brought by FR-Fans, the former Feyenoord player had been speaking about the club’s wingers, and explained why it’s Minteh who stands out.
“At the moment as they stand, I prefer to watch Minteh anyway. Because Minteh has that incredible unpredictability in him. He can sometimes seem clumsy and he can be a real genius. The more he shows genius moments the faster he will develop. I really enjoy him’,” said Blinker.
“Everyone has an opinion about him. One, two, three years developing like this he can really become a European top.”
Earlier on Monday, we covered reports from the Dutch media which stated Feyenoord will actually do ‘everything’ they can to keep Minteh from Newcastle for another season.
Club director Dennis te Kloese said they have ‘good contacts’ with the Magpies, and all parties are happy that the winger’s loan went very well.
Featuring for Feyenoord this season, Minteh has ten goals and four assists in 34 appearances.
Another loan to the Dutch club is perhaps a sensible outcome to all of this.
