With Eddie Howe now at the helm at Newcastle United, the Magpies can finally sit down and discuss who they want to bring in in January.
One of the reasons why the former Bournemouth manager was chosen, according to Amanda Staveley, is because he had a plan, and now comes the time to implement it.
Whether that plan involves Adrien Rabiot remains to be seen, but the Italian media are rather adamant there is an interest from Newcastle in the Juventus player.
We covered some of that on Tuesday, and Corriere Dello Sport bring it to the fore on Wednesday again, going as far as saying the midfielder is ‘close’ to a move to St James’ Park.
That’s why ‘he can leave’, and it’s said his mother, who also happens to be his agent, ‘doesn’t hold him back’.
Newcastle are then mentioned, with it claimed the Premier League side ‘represent something more than a suggestion’, with an offer of ‘€15m (or less) enough to sell him’.
Something to keep an eye on, but if Howe has asked for Rabiot and Juventus are willing to get rid at an affordable price, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Magpies pounce sooner rather than later.
