After being linked with Leicester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the past week, Fotospor claim Burnley are the latest Premier League side to show an interest in Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
It’s reported Burnley sent a scout to Turkey to watch him in action against Fenerbahce last weekend, a game in which he made eight great saves.
Reports in the English press say Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is considering making a move for Burnley’s Nick Pope to replace the underperforming Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Fotospor suggest Cakir could replace Pope at Burnley next season.
In order to get regular first-team football, the Turkish website report Cakir will consider moving to Turf Moor if Burnley make an offer for him.
The 23 year old has been in excellent form for his club this season, making the No.1 shirt his own with the Super Lig side.
Trabzonspor are said to be relaxed about Cakir’s situation as he’s under contract with the club until June 2024.
