Despite having already signed Darko Churlinov and Benson Manuel Hedilazio to bolster their attack, Burnley FC aren’t stopping there.

In fact, the loss of Wout Weghorst to a loan to Besiktas means Vincent Kompany wants a new striker to lead the line at Turf Moor, which is the next player they are targeting.

This comes courtesy of Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to report that Burnley are ‘interested in the Georgia international from FC Metz, Georges Mikautadze’.

Not only that, but the Clarets have already made a ‘first bid of €2.5m’ for the Ligue 2 striker, which was ‘rejected’.

The interest appears directly to come from Kompany, who is said to like his profile and has ‘already talked to him’.

There’s no mention whether Burnley will come back with a second bid, but considering their manager has already reached out directly to the player, it’s likely on the cards.

The 21-year-old has started the season in great fashion, scoring two goals and picking up three assists in four games in Ligue 2.

This comes after last season, where he spent the campaign on loan to RFC Seraing for the second time in two years.
