Back at the start of the year, we saw a couple of reports from Brazil claiming Burnley made an attempt for the signing of Palmeiras youngster Gabriel Silva.
It was said the Clarets wanted the striker on a loan deal, including a buying option, but the clubs couldn’t find an agreement before the transfer deadline.
Now it seems Burnley could be back for the signing, at least according to updates from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola.
On Youtube, the reporter claims the Premier League side ‘are interested’ in making the transfer, and they now want the 20-year-old on a season-long loan with a buying option.
Nicola claims the transfer collapsed in January because of the price for the potential purchase, which was of R$18m (£2.85m).
Now with more time to negotiate, Palmeiras are hopeful they can find a better deal.
Gabriel Silva had been very impressive at the club’s youth ranks, getting several goalscoring records.
However, he’s been struggling to find playing time in the first team, and that’s why Burnley could end up taking him on a potential bargain.
