Unfortunately, with so many articles being published every day, some slip through our net.

We do our best to cover as much as possible, but it’s impossible to be on top of everything, so you’ll have to forgive us for missing Amadou Haidara’s interview with FootMali.com back on October 18th, which we only came across now because we ventured on the website while researching something else, but got drawn in by the fact the headline mentioned him being nicknamed “The English”.

Why? Because his idol is Steven Gerrard, an ‘exemplary captain’ at Liverpool, which is a strange choice when you take into account the club of his heart being Manchester United.

That’s not really a surprise, since he’s already voiced his desire to play at Old Trafford one day, doing so back in April when he described the thought of a move there as his ‘biggest dream’.

Well, the RB Leipzig midfielder was at it again this month when talking to FootMali.com, saying: “My dream club is Manchester United. I will fight with all my strength to one day play for that club”.

If that is the case, then he might need to convince Julian Nagelsmann to play him a bit more, since the 21-year-old midfielder has only featured four times in the Bundesliga so far this season, totalling 378 minutes of football in all competitions spread over seven appearances.

Then again, Manchester United are so desperate for midfield reinforcements these days, and Haidara’s talent is already well known, that he might not even need that much playing time to convince them if he has the attributes they need.

We’ll have to wait and see about that one, though.
