A month ago, we covered a claim made by French journalist Loïc Tanzi that Everton and Nottingham Forest hoped to sign VfL Wolfsburg’s Aster Vranckx this summer.
Steve Cooper’s side seem to have taken further steps to make an attempt to land the 19-year-old.
L’Equipe state the Belgium U21 international has ‘received offers’ from Nottingham Forest, Fiorentina and Bologna. As well as these clubs, Lille are also looking at the midfielder.
The French outlet doesn’t provide details of the offer made by the Premier League side or other clubs, but there is no agreement for his exit from Wolfsburg so far.
Ligainsider relay L’Equipe’s claim and question whether these offers will turn into a move for the player, after the comments made by the German club’s sporting director, Marcel Schäfer. A few days ago, the chief had ruled out an exit for Vranckx in this window.
“As a young player, you are always subject to performance fluctuations and situations in which you may not have a good phase and have to fight your way through. [Vranckx’s exit is] currently not a train of thought that we are dealing with,” Schäfer told WAZ.
If Nottingham Forest or another side still insist to take Vranckx away from Wolfsburg, they would have to convince the Bundesliga side.
