Ever since Jadon Sancho moved to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City and made himself one of the stars of European football, Bundesliga clubs have been looking to follow the same formula.
That’s seen several youngsters from English football move to Germany with mixed success, with Dortmund again securing themselves a great talent in Jude Bellingham.
Fussball Transfers report Borussia Monchengladbach want to get in on the action and that’s seen them scouting U18 matches in England. Brighton and Hove Albion have been of particular interest, and that’s where Gladbach have ‘struck gold’ by discovering Odell Offiah.
Scouts have been impressed by the 18-year-old defender and particularly like the way he sees the game and his level of technique. Brighton haven’t yet secured the youngster to a professional contract, so there’s a belief Gladbach could sign him by simply paying training compensation.
Brighton obviously see things differently and are ‘determined’ to get Offiah to sign a contract with them. That may now be more difficult, given the Bundesliga club are hovering and considering taking the player for themselves.
