Hertha Berlin’s general manager Michael Preetz has confirmed he’s set for transfer talks with Liverpool over the future of Allan Rodrigues de Souza. The 20 year old has been on loan at Hertha from Liverpool this season, and the Bundesliga side would like to keep him longer term.
Germany’s Kicker quote Preetz as saying he can imagine Allan at Hertha next season, before adding: “We must and will discuss this with Liverpool.”
The Liverpool owned footballer has only played 450 minutes of Bundesliga football so far this season, but that’s partly down to going away with Brazil’s U20 squad. Allan was away from mid January to mid February at the U20 South American championship, Preetz believes this was a bad idea, because he only made three substitute appearances.
Jurgen Klopp is believed to rate the young Brazilian highly, but Liverpool would still have issues about a work permit if they want him at Anfield next season. That’s one of the reasons another loan looks the likeliest scenario, and Hertha may again be the destination.
