In April, Bundesliga club Wolfsburg terminated the contract of Nicklas Bendtner, even though it had over a season left to go. Wolfsburg got themselves into the position that they had to pay Bendtner to leave the club.
Since then, The Danish striker has been without a club and has been enjoying his time off, with some training thrown in too. Not many clubs appear willing to take a chance on the player, but sooner or later he’s bound to have someone snap him up.
A QPR move has been rumoured and dismissed, but Danish newspaper BT reckon Bendtner would be a Premier League player now, if only Steve Bruce hadn’t left his job.
It’s claimed by BT that Bendtner agreed a deal to sign for Hull City and reunite with Bruce, a manager he’d previously worked with most notably at Sunderland, but also at Birmingham City.
But then Bruce left his job at Hull, after falling out with those in charge at the club. That, in turn, ruined Bendtner’s chances of signing for the club and left him looking for a new opportunity.
