Bristol City forward Gustav Engvall has spoken about the panic which set in after being stretchered off yesterday playing for Djurgardens. The youngster is currently on loan with the Swedish side after returning to his home country from Bristol City last month.
Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Engvall confirmed he’s injured the same knee he’s had problems with before. The Bristol City loanee said there was a big collision with his BK Hacken opponent, but explained at this stage he doesn’t know the extent of the injury.
“Once it happened, there was a huge bang. Mixed with it comes the panic. It’s the same knee. I do not know how bad it is, but they can pull and bend it,” said Engvall.
Engvall signed for Djurgardens in the final week of the Swedish transfer market, but the Allsvenskan side had to fight to land the 21 year old. With a deal close Bristol City recalled the player due to injuries within their squad and a lack of options for Lee Johnson.
The player spoke at the time about his disappointment not getting a move back to Sweden. However, an agreement was finally made before the deadline for Engvall to join Djurgardens until July.
