Portuguese newspaper Record has today a big story about all players from whom Benfica could make some profit this summer.
Many of these are loanees who could end up staying where they are. The list includes Pedro Pereira and Chris Willock, who have been having loan spells at Bristol City and Huddersfield Town.
Record claims both clubs will work to keep the players, although the situation of each one is a little different for now.
Bristol City have the right to buy Pedro Pereira for €6m, due to a clause in the contract. It’s claimed the club are ‘willing’ to do it, following the fullback’s 19 appearances for them this season.
Regarding Huddersfield, Record says there’s a wish from the club to keep Willock, but the clubs are still to discuss the figures for a deal.
The winger has spent most of the season playing with the reserves, and only got a place in the team in February.
He’s probably gutted the league was stopped by the time he was having the chance to prove himself, but the fact the Terriers want to keep him will be a good sign for him.
