Last week, we covered a story from Calcio Mercato about Sevilla’s chase for the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Davy Propper.
At that time, we pointed out that the story only had two lines, and all it said was that the La Liga side now had the player on ‘their radar’.
We expected the rumour to grow bigger in a few days, and apparently, it did. Many outlets from the Spanish media have been covering it, and today, it’s Mundo Deportivo’s time.
The outlet brings a story today saying that Propper is a target for the January market, even though Calcio Mercato never claimed as much.
The reason for Sevilla’s hurry is that they’re full of injury problems in the squad, and need a signing who can get there and play.
The midfielder is much praised for being a regular at Brighton, but that’s also a reason to expect a big price demand by the Premier League side. They recall that the Seagulls paid €13m to take him from PSV.
Now as this story grows, we wait for a new source to confirm it. Because for now, what the Spanish press is doing is just to add a few bits to what Calcio Mercato initially said.
