Bought by Fiorentina last summer, Nikola Milenkovic has already performed to such a level for the Italians that Manchester City are taking an interest in him.

According to Calciomercato in a rather short article, the Serbia international has caught the eye of Pep Guardiola, who has asked for the the 20-year-old’s displays on the pitch to be followed for the foreseeable future.

Spending just £5m on the centre-back’s services back in 2017, Fiorentina are reaping the benefits of playing him at right-back this season instead of in the centre of defence, as he’s already scored two goals in five games, most recently in the 3-0 win over SPAL.

Whether the Manchester City manager is looking at him for a more central role isn’t mentioned, but seeing as that’s where he’s spent most of his career up until his move to Italy, you would think the plan would be to use him there should the Cityzens make a move.

Seeing as this is just a quick article thrown out by Calciomercato, with no ‘according to our sources’, and no other source mentioned, we’d take it with a pinch of salt for now, but we’ll be keeping an eye for anything new on this going forward.
