Brighton and Hove Albion have put Monza’s Andrea Colpani under ‘special observation’ as they look to continue building Robert De Zerbi’s squad.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Brighton are ‘strongly interested’ in the central midfielder ahead of next summer.
The website explains that Colpani is currently enjoying a ‘season of the highest level’ that has seen him star for Monza and earn his first call-up to the Italian national team.
He has six goals and one assist in 13 games in Serie A so far and is demonstrating plenty of qualities that have earned him attention.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, and the Premier League have ‘set its sights’ on the player. There’s a growing belief he will be a ‘great protagonist’ in the summer transfer window.
There are several teams who could knock on Monza’s door and Brighton are one of them, believing Colpani would be a perfect addition to Roberto de Zerbi’s squad.
His attacking style and preferred system would suit the player while De Zerbi’s continued development of talent at Brighton could give Colpani the opportunity to ‘grow from all points of view’.
How much Brighton would be willing to pay isn’t mentioned but they are seen as a ‘threat’ to the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan, who are also eyeing him up.
