On Friday, Sport1 reported Borussia Dortmund’s Mahmoud Dahoud is ‘about to move’ to England where Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City and Newcastle United are all in the mix to sign him.

It was also explained the midfielder underwent a secret medical in London. This is echoed by WAZ, another reputed German outlet, who then provide their own information on this case.

According to WAZ, Brighton are the ‘most promising candidate’ to secure the 27-year-old’s services in the summer. The Seagulls seem to be ahead of Leicester and Newcastle.

That’s because the Foxes, who are 18th in the table, are in the battle to avoid relegation. Eddie Howe’s side, on the other hand, are in firm contention to qualify for the Champions League next season and have other options for midfield.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side can take the player for free as his contract expires in June. He has seen his game time restricted due to an injury and has also not been appreciated by BVB manager Edin Terzić.

The player and his camp want to give ‘particular importance to a coach who appreciates’ him at his new club. With Dahoud ‘set to move to the Premier League’, WAZ hint this may be achieved at Brighton, where De Zerbi has done a great job this season.
