It’s safe to say that things aren’t going as expected for Ezequiel Schelotto since his move to Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
With only 24 Premier League minutes played, the player hasn’t had many chances to prove himself at the club, where he signed a three-year contract.
Maybe that’s why when speaking to the papers, there isn’t much to talk about his time in England. Schelotto was interviewed by Portuguese radio Renascença on Tuesday to give some insight on the match between Sporting and Juventus, and loved to comment on his former club.
“Who doesn’t know the Alvalade stadium, I can assure you will be afraid. The atmosphere scares the opponents. The Sporting fans are impressive, help the team from the first to the last minute and it will not be easy for Juventus. Sporting have already shown to Europe that they can play against any team. It will be a great spectacle and it will be very difficult for Juventus to take any point to Italy.
“They know that I have a lot of affection and appreciation for them, they have always helped me from the first day I arrived at Sporting, and today they still send me messages. Sporting have the best supporters in Europe. With all the support they give, they make games easier.”
The Brighton player spent a long time in Italy before playing for Sporting, and that’s why he’s so requested to talk about this game. Schelotto had a similar interview with Tuttosport two weeks ago, and when speaking of Sporting, he was so into it that even the reporter mentioned that he talks as if he was still there.
Maybe the lack of game time in Brighton is what makes Schelotto wish he was still in Lisbon.
