Brighton & Hove Albion’s Percy Tau spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Club Brugge.
The South African is still not eligible to obtain a work permit to represent the Seagulls.
On June 25th, Het Belang van Limburg explained the 26-year-old has been offered to ‘several clubs’ in Belgium, while Brugge have turned down an opportunity to keep him on loan for one more season.
Het Laatste Nieuws provides the latest update and they state the forward will be ‘on his way’ to Anderlecht, barring last minute surprises.
The Jupiler Pro League side, who are in the market for a versatile attacker, have set their sights on the African, and it’s claimed they are already ‘approaching an agreement’ with Tau.
HLN explain the negotiations are in the ‘final stage’, and if everything goes well, the Brighton owned player will join Anderlecht on loan with a purchase option. The report further adds the former Brugge man is ‘undergoing medical’ tests in South Africa.
Apart from Anderlecht, Royal Antwerp were also keen on Tau. The forward, however, felt a move to Lotto Park would best suit him, even though there will be no European football at Anderlecht next season.
