Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza and consider him a player whose ‘parameters’ fit with theirs.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say there is a ‘serious possibility’ that the player will pack his bags and move to Brighton in search of a new challenge.
The newspaper reports that the Seagulls are interested in signing the Andalusian, who spent last season on loan at Real Betis.
They are believed to be keen on signing a left-back to bolster their squad and consider the 24-year-old as a player who fits what they are looking for.
Villarreal are open to a deal as the player is not in new manager Unai Emery’s plans and they would be looking for between €6-8m if they were to let him go.
Whether that is a price Brighton would be willing to pay isn’t mentioned, but if it isn’t, they may be able to use the fact that Pedraza is in the final year of his contract to their advantage and get Villarreal to lower their price.
Either way, the Spanish side would welcome the ‘economic injection’ as it would give them funds to focus on additions elsewhere, such as Takefusa Kubo or Oscar Rodríguez.
