Brighton have ‘offered’ player to club – Seagulls looking to find new home for forward

Club Brugge were crowned Belgian champions after the 2019/20 season was cut short in April due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Last week, Het Nieuwsblad reported the Jupiler Pro League side are set to return to training for next season and Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Percy Tau will not be part of those sessions.

It was also explained the possibility of Club Brugge trying to sign the 26-year-old on another loan spell cannot be ruled out.

The forward’s temporary deal with the Belgian side expires on June 30th and theoretically, he is expected to return to The Amex.

Having joined the Seagulls in 2018, the South African couldn’t be part of the Premier League club’s squad because he failed to obtain a work permit.

It’s not clear whether or not the attacker can represent Graham Potter’s side next season. However, that’s not stopped Tau’s employer from finding another club for him this summer, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.

It’s claimed Brighton have ‘offered’ the African to Royal Antwerp, but he’s not a priority for them. HLN also add a new loan move to Club Brugge is ‘also possible’.

With Brighton trying to find a new club for Tau, it could be an indication that he is still not eligible to play in England.
