As you know, Brighton & Hove Albion weren’t exactly the most prolific of sides this season in the Premier League.
Scoring just 40 goals in 38 games, Graham Potter’s men struggled to find the back of the net, and the normally rather exciting Neal Maupay only managed eight conversions in 33 appearances.
That means Brighton are on the lookout for a new striker, with VfB Stuttgart’s Nicolás González among the chosen targets.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who reveal Fiorentina’s interest in the Argentina international, as Gennaro Gattuso looks to bring added depth to his new squad, with a striker among his objectives.
However, with a price tag of around €27-28m, the Argentine is an expensive target for La Viola, which could give an advantage to Brighton.
The Seagulls are said to have ‘never hidden themselves’ in the pursuit for the striker, while Tottenham are also mentioned, but the latter is more seen as rumours than fact.
We’ll have to see if anything does come from this Brighton interest in the player, who managed to score six goals in 15 appearances for Stuttgart despite spending most of the season injured.
