Brighton and Hove Albion forward Percy Tau looks set for a return to Belgium and is ‘close’ to joining Antwerp FC.
That’s according to Voetbalkrant, who say the Belgian side are closing in on a €4m deal for the South African.
Tau spent the first half of last season on loan with Anderlecht and impressed enough that Brighton brought him back to the club in the January transfer window.
He managed just three appearances for the Seagulls before the end of the season, though, with Graham Potter seemingly reluctant to give him his chance.
It appeared he would be given a greater opportunity next season, but Voetbalkrant say that won’t be the case as he’s set for a return to Belgium with Antwerp.
They were keen last season, losing out to Anderlecht, but are now ‘close’ to sealing a €4m move, with the website’s information stating that they will ‘definitively pluck’ Tau from Brighton.
The Seagulls are said to be ‘satisfied’ with the €4m offered, despite wanting €6m two seasons ago.
The move is considered something of a marketing stunt for Antwerp, who are hoping to take advantage of Tau’s popularity in his native South Africa.
