Brighton & Hove Albion are the latest English club to show an interest in Falkenberg forward Jesper Karlsson, according to claims in the Swedish media. The 18-year-old has already been linked with Manchester United and Sunderland in recent months.
Fotboll Direkt have revealed Brighton are tracking Karlsson, but will face competition from Swedish sides, including Elfsborg and Allsvenskan champions Malmo, to land the youngster.
Brighton currently lie in the automatic promotion positions in the Championship, and with the transfer window just around the corner they could look to strengthen the squad to help their pursuit for Premier League football.
However, Karlsson’s hasn’t been keen to hype the situation further and when asked for his opinion, said simply: “I have no comment, nothing is clear.”
Earlier in the season we covered reports from Sweden that Sunderland were keen on the young forward, who would cost the Premier League club around £500k to £700k. Manchester United have also been linked with Karlsson, and have been seen at Falkenberg games this season.
