Takvim report Fenerbahce are showing an interest in Brighton forward Jurgen Locadia.

The Turkish club last week appointed Phillip Cocu as their new manager and Takvim say the Dutchman wants to work with his former PSV player.

Locadia joined Brighton from PSV back at the start of the year for a fee believed to be around €17m but the Dutch striker only managed to feature in six matches for Chris Hughton’s side.

The Turkish reports fails to mention that Locadia arrived at Brighton carrying an injury.

According to Takvim, Fenerbahce manager Cocu is keen on a reunion with Locadia, and the Turkish club’s sporting director Damien Comolli will try to land him on a loan deal, with an option to buy.

It’s also suggested Locadia could be tempted with a move to Fenerbahce because of Cocu and the possibility to play in the Champions League next season.

This one sounds like it’s been built from Turkish optimism running away with itself. It’s got to be considered unlikely Brighton would let a big signing leave so quickly, without really giving him a chance to prove himself.

Locadia scored two goals for Brighton last season and he’s under contract with the Premier League club until 2020.
