On May 24th, 2016, Eder signed a contract to move to Lille on a permanent basis from Swansea City.

On July 10th, 2016, Eder, despite being a bit-part player, scored the winning goal for Portugal against France in the Euro 2016 final.

The forward’s time in Lille was then somewhat cursed and just over a year later, the French club are looking to offload the player.

Brighton & Hove Albion are interested, report L’Equipe, and the French newspaper also say Birmingham City are keen on the player, but both clubs would prefer a loan signing.

Whilst Brighton and Birmingham have made contact with Lille over the potential transfer, it’s not pushed either club much further forward, with Lille still holding out for a full transfer, rather than a temporary one.

The French club want a fee of €6m, achievable for either Brighton or Birmingham but not what either English club would prefer right now.

Olympiakos, CSKA Moscow and Girona are also keen, but they want a loan too.
