Pontus Jansson has made himself at home since leaving Leeds United for Brentford in the summer transfer window.
After the surprise transfer, which has been put down to a disagreement with Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, Jansson quickly found himself captain at his new Championship club.
Clearly an important player for the side, the last thing Brentford fans will want to hear of is injury issues on international duty, but there’s some worrying news coming from Sweden on Tuesday.
Expressen report Jansson was forced out of national team training today. He left the pitch and then his foot was wrapped up, which they’ve proven with images taken.
The defender then didn’t take part in Sweden’s training match, staying on the sidelines.
No medical report has been released yet, so there’s no clarity of the seriousness, or otherwise, of the situation.
Sweden face Romania on November 15th and then the Faroe Islands on the 18th.
Brentford are at home to Reading in the Championship on the 23rd.
