Brentford forward Kevin Schade has been pulled out of Germany’s squad for this international break ‘due to slight muscular problems’.

That’s according to Kicker, who say Hansi Flick and his team did not want to risk the Brentford man missing out on the U-21 European Championship.

The newspaper reports that Flick ‘will have to do without’ Schade for the upcoming clash against Ukraine as he’s picked up an injury they don’t want to risk.

Schade has been pulled out of the group currently training at the team’s headquarters in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt after picking up ‘slight muscular problems’.

The decision has been made “in order not to jeopardise his participation in the U-21 European Championship” according to a statement from the DFB.

The Brentford man was not set to join the U-21’s until after the match against Ukraine on Monday, with that group not set to meet until Saturday to prepare for the tournament in Romania and Georgia.

Whether he will now be sent back to Brentford or stay with Germany for treatment isn’t mentioned but it seems no risks are being taken as they plan for him to be a key player for the U-21’s this summer.
