West Ham United have reportedly made an offer to the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger Bernard.
As reported by Brazilian outlet UOL on Wednesday, the player is currently analysing the possibilities for his future after letting his contract with the Ukrainian side expire.
Besides the offer from the Hammers, Bernard has also the chance to join Jiangsu Suning. Other clubs from China are also said to be interested, but haven’t made any official proposals yet.
UOL claims that Bernard was waiting for offers from clubs ‘of bigger expression’, such as Arsenal and Liverpool. But despite the approaches these clubs made, their interest hasn’t been put to paper yet.
Bernard made only 29 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk last season, missing over ten games due to a shoulder injury.
He finished the season with ten goals and four assists, scoring a screamer in the 2-1 win against Manchester City for the Champions League group stage.
West Ham will have to hope Arsenal and Liverpool don’t move forward quickly with their own interest.
