We all know that Manchester City and the City Group have been trying to build a little empire by acquiring clubs and players from all over the world.
Now it seems things are getting more intense in South America, as it’s been impressive how many local youngsters they’ve been linked to in the past few weeks.
The latest news from Globo Esporte says ‘the group who manages Manchester City’ are interested in the Palmeiras striker Wesley, and could soon make an official bid for him.
It’s said there are no contacts with the Brazilian club so far, and the interest was presented via agent Paulo Pitombeira. He also represents Gabriel Jesus, who moved from Palmeiras to Manchester City back in 2016.
Palmeiras don’t even know how much they’ll demand for the player yet, and are waiting for an official bid before they can take it more seriously.
Wesley is the fifth South American youngster we’ve seen the City Group being linked to in the past 30 days. While Grêmio’s Diego Rosa is reportedly on his way to Manchester City, there have been also been reports about approaches for Fluminense’s Evanilson, River Plate’s Jorge Carrascal and Santos’ Alison Matheus.
