Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is ready for a move to Barcelona, according to Brazilian outlet UOL.
Today’s story, which is signed by four different journalists, has several sources saying the transfer is well advanced, with Barcelona believing it could be done by the end of the week.
But it all starts with Paris Saint Germain. UOL learned that the player’s representatives were contacted by the French club, who are after Coutinho by Neymar’s request.
But PSG found two issues for the signing: first, the Financial Fair Play. And then the fact that instead of joining Neymar in Paris, the midfielder is actually set to replace him at Barça.
The Catalan side would be confident on the move, since they believe that Liverpool are convinced to go against Jurgen Klopp and finally sell the star. The offer would be of a bit over €110m.
UOL spoke to people close to Coutinho as well, who also say that the player is close to signing for Barcelona, despite the interest from PSG. They claim that ‘his bags are packed’ and the move is prepared.
That’s why PSG are unlikely to make the signing. The French side would have to sort their FFP problem, then outbid Barcelona and also convince the player. Even though Coutinho’s agents don’t rule out the possibility, Neymar is unlikely to play alongside his friend this season.
