Yesterday, different outlets from Brazil reported Barcelona’s optimism in signing Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool. The stories said that after meeting the player’s agents, the Catalan side believed finding an agreement with him would be no problem, although a deal with Liverpool would be something that requires more work.
The claims camed from Globo Esporte and Lance, and now another reliable source from Brazil has Liverpool’s point of view on this story. UOL get to the point and say Liverpool simply aren’t selling Coutinho.
UOL first confirm Barcelona’s €80m bid, and then say that a source close to the Premier League side told them that there is no deal, for any price, and the lack of a release clause in the midfielder’s contract only makes things more difficult for those who want him.
Besides being determined Coutinho won’t be sold, Liverpool are also confident that he wouldn’t force his way out of the club. And even if he tries to, that wouldn’t be enough for them to bend.
