Bournemouth transfer seems ‘logical’ for Iraola favourite – But deal hard to get done as club stand firm

Bournemouth face a struggle to reunite striker Álvaro García with manager Andoni Iraola as Raya Vallecano remain stubborn over a possible exit.

That’s according to Marca, who say that while it seems that the ‘logical thing’ would be for the striker to join Bournemouth this summer, the reality is far different.

They state that despite the fact several clubs from England and Spain have knocked on his door, all of them have found it ‘impossible’ to negotiate with Rayo.

The Spanish side have made it clear at every turn that García will only leave if his €25m release clause is met. That figure is ‘unaffordable’ for the clubs in La Liga and would mean an ‘important financial bet’ for any English side, which so far nobody has made.

The ‘logical thing’ is that Bournemouth move for him thanks to hiring Iraola, who worked with the player at Rayo and even made keeping him one of the ‘non-negotiable conditions’ to him signing new deals at the club.

However, ‘nothing is further from reality’ and while three clubs in England have been interested in learning the conditions for a transfer to happen, they haven’t moved.

Instead, they’ve found Rayo in a particularly uninterested mood with ‘little interest in negotiating’ a sale or even negotiating a starting point.

Thus, there has been nothing more than enquiries for the player but those interested know that Rayo will remain ‘inflexible’ and everyone at the Spanish club is relaxed about the situation.

Bournemouth are one such side, presumably, and while it may make sense for them to be keen to reunite García with Iraola, the reality is that it looks unlikely to happen.
