While the Premier League window is now closed, the rest of Europe can still do their business, and that leaves English clubs exposed.

It’s unlikely to be the big-name players who are targeted in the coming weeks, and it appears Diego Rico, currently at Bournemouth, finds himself at the centre of Spanish interest.

According to El Gol Digital, both Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo are keen on the Cherries defender this summer.

The latter are particularly interested in the 26-year-old, but they are facing competition for his signature from La Real.

Sociedad were keen on Rico before he went to Bournemouth last season, but they got Theo Hernandez instead.

They can’t get the Real Madrid back this summer as he’s gone to AC Milan, so they’ve now turned their attention to Rico.

They’re keen to add a left-back for this coming season and are seemingly shopping in the Premier League, with them also linked to Nacho Monreal earlier this summer.

Indeed, El Gol reports that Rico is seen as a ‘realistic’ alternative to the Arsenal man, suggesting they believe they can’t get Monreal from the Emirates.
