Bournemouth are in pole position to sign Arthur Avom Ebong from FC Lorient in a deal that would leave him at the French club for a year.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who report that Bournemouth are keen on the 20-year-old, whose performances in France are earning attention around Europe.
They report that the midfielder’s ‘remarkable’ performances for Lorient have attracted Bournemouth, who are now in the process of signing him.
The intend to sign the midfielder on a deal until 2030 and loan him back to Lorient for a year, so that he can continue to grow in Ligue 1.
Such a collaborative strategy would not be new for the two clubs as they’ve done the same with Eli Junior Kroupi. He was signed and loaned to Lorient to continue to developing there before moving to the Premier League.
It appears Bournemouth would like to replicate that with Arthur Avom Ebong. The two clubs have the same ownership group, so doing such a deal isn’t difficult ether.
It’s seen as something that benefits everyone as the player can continue developing in Ligue 1, Bournemouth lock him down for a year and Lorient don’t lose a key player either.
