Manchester City have become the latest club to join the chase for Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitiké.
That’s at least what Bild are reporting, and they state the striker is on Manchester City’s radar.
The 22-year-old starred this season, scoring 22 goals and registering 11 assists from 46 games.
Ekitiké has already been linked to a few English clubs and this includes Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea. Bild state the Premier League winners, and the Gunners are hot while the other two clubs are interested.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been added to the list of suitors as they are keeping an eye on the Frenchman.
The report claims these clubs have held talks with Ekitiké’s camp but not with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Eintracht Frankfurt are well placed to qualify for the Champions League and Bild explain this puts them in a strong position to demand €100m for Ekitiké. They seem to be using Manchester City and others to send a message about their demands.
Manchester City have Erling Haaland as the first-choice striker and January signing Omar Marmoush can also operate up front. It doesn’t make sense for the Citizens to then spend €100m on Ekitiké.
