AFC Bournemouth want to sign Barcelona’s Julián Araujo this summer, according to claims from Spain.
The right-back played only a few minutes in a friendly against Manchester City during pre-season because he’s been made available in the market.
That’s according to Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, who say the 22-year-old is of interest to several Premier League sides and only Bournemouth are mentioned.
It’s claimed the Cherries have ‘already moved’ to take the defender away from the San Siro and the deal could see the La Liga side collect over €10m.
That’s because Barcelona and Andoni Iraola’s side are in ‘full negotiation to finalise’ a deal for the fullback.
Hansi Flick has several options in the back line, making it difficult for the Mexican to enjoy regular game time at Barca. Bournemouth have opened their door for him and Sport claim they are finalising the final details of the deal.
Sport say both clubs have refused to reveal the details of the operation, and they believe Barca could earn €9m including bonuses from Araujo’s sale.
