Joao Mario has been repeatedly linked with a return to West Ham this summer, but also a move to Wolves.
The Hammers had Joao Mario on loan from Inter Milan last season. There was a hope at the Italian side that the switch could be made permanent, and some of Manuel Pellegrini’s big transfer budget be sent to Inter.
Less in the mix have been Bournemouth and Everton, pushed forward every now and again by the Italian media.
That’s the case on Monday as Gazzetta dello Sport say all four clubs are on the trail of the Portuguese international. Inter have very much been looking for a permanent sale but as time goes on the less likely that becomes.
Therefore, Bournemouth, Everton and the others would have a good chance of getting the player on loan.
The chase for Jefferson Lerma has shown Bournemouth aren’t done in this transfer window, but the Colombian is a very different player to Joao Mario.
Over at Everton the priority seems to be defence for now, but if interest in the Inter player is genuine then the idea of a last minute loan could be tempting.
