This. This is the news every single Liverpool fan has been dreaming about. The Reds want Philippe Coutinho back.

At least, that’s what Le10 Sport in France claim on Thursday afternoon, explaining Jürgen Klopp’s side are one of ‘numerous’ Premier League sides who would be interested in the Brazilian this summer.

Chelsea are another, but their current transfer ban makes the whole buying players thing a bit tricky these days, while Manchester United complete the triumvirate.

Le10 state Liverpool ‘haven’t forgotten’ what Coutinho did for them in the past, but a return would be very tricky.

They would need to somehow help Barcelona make most of their money back (he was signed for £130m) and then find a way to pay him the €12m/year he’s currently on in Catalonia.

Seeing as Liverpool have done rather well without the 27-year-old, doing stuff like winning the Champions League, we simply can’t see them splashing most, if not all, of their budget on a former player who hasn’t exactly been the greatest success in Spain.

In fact, will anyone be willing to splash the cash on the Brazilian this summer?
