Raul Jimenez has been pulled out of Mexico’s match against the US, according to various claims coming from the country on Monday afternoon.
The Wolves forward is the latest Mexican to pick up an issue, with Dale Mexico saying there’s bad karma hitting the squad at the moment.
Jimenez has a ‘small muscular discomfort’, so won’t be travelling for the match. Instead, he’s said to be on his way back to Europe and Wolves.
On one hand, it’s obviously a blow for Wolves to learn that their player has picked up an injury issue on international duty. But, with it being referred to as a small thing, there’s the positive that at least Mexico aren’t pushing things and presenting the danger of a more serious injury being picked up in the US game.
Wolves face Burnley on Sunday, and it’s not clear whether Jimenez will be fit enough for the Premier League match. So far this season the player, on loan with a purchase option from Benfica, has started four games and scored a single goal.
