Mohamed Airam Ramos Wade, also known as Moha Ramos, joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid last summer.

As part of the transfer, the Championship side retain an option to make the goalkeeper’s stay permanent.

The 19-year-old came up through the ranks of the Spanish club’s youth system and he was included in the first team squad during the 2017/18 season. However, he is yet to feature for Real Madrid’s senior team.

A lack of opportunities in the lower categories last term convinced the teenager to go out on loan and even though Birmingham can make his transfer permanent, Ramos’ heart is set on returning to the Santiago Bernabéu.

“In Madrid we have many goalkeepers, all very good. It is logical for the club to propose different options so that we all continue to grow, and normal that some of us consider going out on loan to return,” he told Marca.

“I fully understand the situation. I have a contract and I want to be the present and future of the best team in the world, and I am preparing for it. I see myself coming to the first team, without hesitation.”

Ramos has made his intentions known to the English side, where he has made it to only one match day squad in all competitions this season. He ended up as an unused substitute in Birmingham City’s fourth round FA Cup clash against Coventry City.

The Spaniard also, who remains grateful to his youth team coaches, Ramón Martínez and Alfredo Merino, is very clear where he will be next season; “At Real Madrid.”
