Wolverhampton Wanderers fans probably have a very good reason to be mad at the Mexican media once again.
It’s been a while the local press has been saying Raul Jimenez should find a bigger club, and with the striker turning 29 years of age today, his future is a topic in his home country.
Marca is one of the outlets who talk about it. They bring a headline saying ‘At 29, is it the right age for Raul Jimenez to make the jump to a great in Europe?’
The outlet completely ignores the importance of Wolves, only claiming that the striker has done enough in Europe for a big side to go after him. Then they make a poll asking readers if he’s ready to make such move.
It currently stands at 73% backing a Wolves exit, so is a very small sample which fans of a certain West Midlands club could easily change themselves.
Another big outlet who talks about a move is ESPN. The headline says ‘Is the best for Raul Jimenez a big club?’.
Their story sounds a little more balanced, since they recall that Jimenez hasn’t done great at Atletico Madrid, and that could be a problem for him. Still, they believe he could do better now that he’s in his prime.
ESPN recalls that the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been linked to the Mexican star lately. They say the La Liga giants sound more like ‘utopia’, but suggest that he still deserves a club with ‘bigger quality than Wolves’.
