Liverpool’s interest in Lazio striker Joaquin Correa has been reported by a few outlets in the past couple of days, and Calcio Mercato is one of them.

The website brings a story today saying Jurgen Klopp has targeted the 25-year-old, and could try to find a deal for him in the summer.

Joaquin Correa has recently renewed his contract with Lazio, having signed an extension which runs until 2024, and that’s why the Italian side won’t let him go so easily.

Calcio Mercato doesn’t say how much the player would cost, but they point out that his wish to move to the Premier League could help Liverpool in the negotiations.

In a recent live chat on Instagram, Correa has spoken about his wish to play in the Premier League, showing he’s even concerned about the language he has to learn.

“I’d like to play in the Premier League. At the moment, I am focused on Lazio, but I also enjoy the English league. I would like to improve my English and I will,” said the striker (via Fichajes).

In 27 appearances for Lazio this season, Correa has eight goals and four assists.
