Managing to keep their great run of form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 1-0 win against Leicester City, Manchester United will now be planning for the upcoming fixtures against Fulham and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Red Devils will be hoping to pick up a win against the Cottagers to head into their Champions League clash in the best of moods, and hope no one picks an injury along the way.
We say this because that’s what Paris Saint-Germain are currently struggling with, having already lost Neymar for the foreseeable future, as the Brazilian is now expected to miss both fixtures against Manchester United.
If that wasn’t bad enough, there’s now the possibility that Marco Verratti could also miss the first leg of the knockout round, unable to complete training on Tuesday with an undisclosed injury (a new one following an ankle niggle that kept him out of their last two league games).
Thomas Tuchel stated he was having to wait until Thusday (today) to find out if the Italian midfielder would be available against Bordeaux at the weekend.
If he isn’t, then it will all come down to whether he can feature in next Monday’s training session.
Le Parisien label the whole thing as a ‘big worry’, and that’s understandable, since he’s started 18 games this season and is a key member of Tuchel’s plans when fit.
