Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso will be ‘one of the big targets’ for Real Betis in the summer window, according to Estadio Deportivo.
Ramón Alarcón, the La Liga side’s CEO, has said that work is ongoing on three possible scenarios; playing in the Europa League, UEFA Conference League or without European football next season.
A possible move for the Tottenham midfielder and others in the next window will depend on where the club finish this season.
Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo and his team have started working behind the scenes and the 28-year-old’s name is back on the agenda. It’s claimed they are ‘longing’ for their former player as he’s liked a lot within the Spanish club.
Last week, Fajardo opened the door for the Spurs midfielder to return to Real Betis and also insisted that Nabil Fekir won’t have to be sacrificed to make room for Lo Celso.
ED now state Real Betis’ idea is to raise close to €15m from Fekir’s sale. The 30-year-old Frenchman has admirers in Saudi Arabia, especially Al-Ittihad, who are keen on securing his services.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are looking to replace Fekir with the Tottenham player, who was at the club during the 2018/19 season.
It’s claimed Lo Celso ‘continues to maintain contacts’ with Real Betis directors and is willing to return to his old club if conditions are right. The report adds this possible track is ‘gaining momentum’.
