After signing their former striker Burak Yılmaz from Beijing Gouan, Trabzonspor will now focus their attention on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko, report Fotomac.
The Frenchman has been linked with the Super Lig side in the past week.
It’s been claimed Trabzonspor chairman Muharrem Usta has held talks with Tottenham officials and ‘big steps’ have been made in getting a deal done for Sissoko.
Fotomac report the Turkish side have offered €2.5m to loan Sissoko from Tottenham for the season.
The Turkish source adds that negotiations have dragged on because Tottenham initially wanted a permanent sale, but due to lack the of offers for the player, the English club are now considering Trabzonspor’s request for a loan.
It’s also suggested Tottenham could reconsider Trabzonspor’s offer for Sissoko, because of the player’s own intentions for his future. Sissoko only joined Tottenham last summer, but after just eight league starts last season he may need to find a club which can give him more opportunities.
Tottenham are likely to be more receptive to a loan deal if it includes some kind of commitment to sign Sissoko permanently next summer.
