Spanish newspaper AS today don’t just doubt Fulham’s chances of signing Willian Jose from Real Sociedad, they take a sledgehammer to the idea and smash it to pieces.
Reporting the local club have rejected an offer from Fulham, English claims of that bid being around €29m are covered.
AS say it doesn’t matter how much the offer was, Real Sociedad aren’t even listening because they have no intention of selling the player this summer.
The only way a club would be able to sign the striker is if they paid his €60m buyout clause, but the Spanish newspaper even doubts that would work.
Whilst Real Sociedad would be forced to release the Brazilian if the amount was deposited, Fulham would need the agreement of the player before doing so.
For Willian Jose, that is ‘not contemplated’ because he doesn’t want to leave San Sebastian this summer.
On top of that, the player’s agents ‘have no intention’ of trying to push for a move in the current transfer window.
So that’s that then.
