The Portuguese press now finally brings the details of Liverpool’s offer for Braga defender David Carmo.

There are two outlets with a complete report of the bid, SIC Notícias and Record, and they both say the Reds were trying to get the defender on a loan with an option to buy.

The only difference is how much Liverpool would have for the loan, as SIC says €3.5m and Record claims €4m.

However, they both agree that Liverpool wanted to have an option to buy David Carmo for €20m at the end of the season, leaving 20% of a future sale to Braga.

It’s claimed that Braga didn’t have enough time to get a proper replacement, and that’s why they chose to decline the offer. Record adds that the Portuguese side know they can sell him for more in the next transfer window.

On Tuesday morning, when Portuguese newspapers still didn’t know how much Liverpool had offered, they were already claiming that the bid was made too late, with Braga not having enough time to think about it.
