Despite English denials of Liverpool interest in Alisson, the claims continue in Italy.
Jurgen Klopp’s loyalty to Loris Karius has again been tested in preseason and whilst Liverpool fans are hugely optimistic about the season ahead, many of them would prefer it starts with a new goalkeeper.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica on Saturday states Liverpool have offered €60m plus a further €10m in bonus payments for Brazil’s goalkeeper, but AS Roma have knocked it back.
The Italian club instead want €65m plus €10m, which in terms of the size of the fee is just a fraction higher. It’s claimed Chelsea could come back into the equation.
Should a sale happen, Roma could then look towards Alphonse Areola who won’t be thrilled by the arrival of Gianluigi Buffon at PSG.
A total offer from Liverpool of €70m seems over the top, and would surely be doubtful. Alisson has perhaps not yet proved he’s absolutely among the top few goalkeepers on the planet.
