Tottenham have reportedly made multiple offers for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, going all the way back to the last summer transfer window.
Last summer, Lyon didn’t want to sell their midfielder, but this time things are different. The club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has made it very clear a sale is possible, and has publicly talked up potential destinations, including Juventus, PSG and Spurs.
It appears Aulas has been trying to build an auction situation, looking for Lyon to get the best transfer fee possible. At this stage, it doesn’t appear he’s managed to push things as high as he’d like, but Aulas certainly won’t give up.
France’s Telefoot have had a chat with Ndombele and questioned him on a transfer. At first he sat on the fence, and then he was asked specifically about interest from Tottenham.
He made it clear he’s tempted by the idea of joining the Premier League club.
Telefoot quote the Lyon player as saying: “Yes, it’s true Tottenham is a great team, it’s a big club. They finished fourth in a big championship, and are finalists in the Champions League. It’s a big club, like others. Which player wouldn’t be interested in a big club.”
