Manchester United face PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday, and it’s given Le Parisien a reason to interview Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian was popular during his time with the French club, and now he’s got experience in the Premier League, he was asked a few questions about the upcoming match.
Given Tottenham recently beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side 6-1, Lucas was asked to give his opinion on the Red Devils team and how they’ll do against PSG this evening, to which he replied: “It’s a very good team despite the score. They have very great players. Manchester remains Manchester. For Paris, you have to look at the course of the last seasons. PSG have become one of the best teams in the world. The game will be very interesting. I’ll be home with popcorn watching (laughs). A great match like this is eagerly awaited.”
After huge investment and repeated heartbreaks in recent years, including against Manchester United, PSG managed to make it to the Champions League final last season.
They lost out to Bayern Munich but, just like it was for Tottenham, getting to the final was considered a big step forward for the club.
Le Parisien put it to Lucas that he and his friend Marquinhos now need to go one step further and win the trophy with their respective clubs: “It’s true. A final on each side. I’m happy to have reached the final with Tottenham. I am also happy for Paris and my friends. There is still time to win this competition. The most important thing is to believe in it and to give the best.”
Spurs aren’t in the competition this season so won’t be facing PSG, but Lucas was asked if he aims to face his former club in the future: “It will be difficult quickly… But I would be happy to see my former teammates, my friends, return to the Parc des Princes one day. I still have a lot of feelings with PSG.”
